Indonesia Visa on Board

The visitors who visit to Indonesia, especially from Japan are not need to cue to reserve the Visa on Arrival at the International Airport in Indonesia. It is because the Indonesia Government has offered the new regulation that the visitors can apply the visa on board (VOB). The Indonesian Tourism and Cultures Minister, Jerok Wacik was welcome the Japanese tourists on last Monday, 01 February 2010 at Bali’s International Airport, in Denpasar.
Tourists to Indonesia
The procession of welcoming 168 tourists from Japan has signified the VOB program has been started on Garuda Indonesia plane from Narita Tokyo – Japan to Ngurah Rai Airport in Denpasar Bali per February 1st, 2010. After arriving at Ngurah Rai Airport, the Japanese tourists are welcomed by the traditional Balinese Dances. The minister then meets couple of visitors and asks them about the experience of this new program of Visa on Board (Garuda Indonesia 330 – 200).
Denpasar AirportThe VOB services has been tried and executed on 21 December 2009 at the Garuda Airline with same route. The Visa on Board services has been a new strategy to grab more tourists from all over the world in year 2010 and the Indonesia Government has assigned 7 million of tourist must come to Indonesia as a target for this year.
Since the service of VOB, the tourists who fly through Garuda Indonesia with route Tokyo – Denpasar – Jakarta are no need to cue at the immigration counter. The tourists just purchase the voucher of Visa on Arrival (VOA) at the Garuda Indonesia Counter in Narita Airport, Tokyo. Then, the immigration will check the tourist’s passport and Visa on Arrival (VOA) at the plane cabin quickly and smoothly.
This program is a real part of releasing the resistance of tourism business which is happened previously in Bali in particular to apply the Visa on Arrival (VOA). The tourist who has done the long trips and also cue to apply the visa on arrival within one till two hours that completed the mad of feeling to all tourists. Therefore we seek the solution in order to arrange the visa on arrival easily by producing the Visa on Board (VOB), the minister said.
The Tourism and Cultures Minister, Jerok Wacik is accompanied by the Director of PT. Garuda Indonesia, Agus Priyotno and General Manager of Garuda Indonesia Bali’s Branch, Bagus Siregar said that the Visa on Board is expected and able to be executed for other routes in order to keep the tourist conveniences when visiting Indonesia. The VOB will be expanded to Australia, China and South Korea.
Japanese TouristsBy providing the easy way like VOB, the tourists who visiting Indonesia including Bali are expected increase. ‘How much the number increasing of tourist volume to Indonesia? But the Visa on Board existence can help every tourists and make them satisfy, hence the will interest to visit Indonesia including Bali’, he said.
According to Jero Wacik, Bali for the year 2010 is targeted to grab tourist 2,3 million of tourists. Last year in 2009, Bali has been visited 2,2 million tourists where the Australian has reached in top position with 446.000 tourists, Japanese is number 2 position with 319.000 tourists and China with 199.000 tourists.
